TIM HOLTZ AUGUST TAG 2015

Tim Holtz August Tag 2015

Here is Tim's Tag for this month and the link to
to all the supplies he used and how he made it.

Well I finally completed my August Tag.
Nothing like cutting it close to the wire!!!!
I tell you when I first saw this tag, I was like...
Blah...because the man and the colors just didn't appeal
to my taste.  But that was just my first reaction to the
visual tag.  So the creative side of me started reading and following
the post and within seconds I was hooked. I began thinking
about what I wanted on "MY" August tag, and
what story I wanted to tell, and could I actually
apply his techniques to "MY" tag.
As always Tim shows us the way.
My tag is TOTALLY different from his,
and I am again amazed at my finished tag.
I have to Thank Tim AGAIN, for all his
inspiration and encouragement because
without that...I know I wouldn't be
attempting this!
Here is my AUGUST 2015 TAG:

I wanted my tag to reflect something that I could
actually relate to.  I began looking at pictures, because
I knew I had to use something with meaning to me.
I ran across some pictures that I took in July.  We were all
blowing bubbles outside.  I immediately recalled the happiness
of that day and the "HEAT" of Summer!

Here are my two favorite pictures from that day.

(This is the photo I picked)

I have been waiting ALL month long to try and
get this tag completed and something always
interfered.  It is a relief to FINALLY say
Hooray....it's done!

I mainly followed Tim's directions.
I used brown hues instead of black.
I was trying to get a feel of sunshine, so I stuck with
yellow, oranges and red with a touch of aqua for some
added color.
I used the Alphanumeric die because I wanted to
say something specific that I didn't have in a die.
I was trying to keep the Rays from the stencil showing
through, but after I used the matte medium and some of the
sprays...it got lost in the layers.
I really enjoyed challenging myself on this tag.....trying
to figure out how to simulate bubbles, without losing them
totally within the layers as I did with the stencil. Also, I
wanted my words to still show up...
As always when I do these tags...I learn so much. I will
start using my archival ink colors more when I stamp instead of
sticking to black and brown.  I just love how my ticket
turned out.
I also love spraying the crinkle ribbon to match the tag.
It is on my favorite list of finishing touches.
SOOOO I am ready to see Tim's September's Tag....
XOXOXO
